Garden Party!

It is my 40.5th birthday, and to celebrate there will be a garden party at our house in the afternoon of Saturday 18th of June! From 2pm until 6pm, and possibly later if we want to continue.

Dressing up (in costume, in suit-equivalents or black tie, colourfully, or whatever else feels interesting) is encouraged.

There will be a assorted drinks, including cocktails, and nibbles, and if we stay later past dinner time we will source food of some sort.

If we are online friends, you are very welcome even if we don't know each other well, as are partners and children and pets. Please let me know if you ARE likely to come, even if you're not sure.

We will be outside, but you are welcome to come inside briefly for necessities. Please take an LFT beforehand if it's easy for you to do so.

Housewarming and Birthday party, Afternoon and Evening Sat 5th Jan

To celebrate my living in a house with NO MOLD in it, and my incipient ascension into post-epic levels (my 31ST BIRTHDAY), there will be a combined housewarming-cum-birthday PARTY:

* During the AFTERNOON and EVENING, commencing from about 2pm
* During the afternoon there will be tea, and probably cake/toddlers/board-games, etc
* During the evening there will be alcohol and loud conversation
* In between, there will be take away food of a democratically determined culture.

29th Birthday Party, Sat 15th

There will be a birthday party for me:

* Black tie preferred (but optional. fancy dress also encouraged as an alternative.)

* Sat 9th Jan. (My birthday begins at midnight)

Halloween Party, Sat 31st October

There will be a Halloween party at Sherbourne Close in Cambridge (directions on request) next week on Sat 31st, from about 8pm. Everyone is welcome. Please bring friends, drinks, extra decorations, and anything else that seems appropriate. Costumes are welcome.

I had a really great party on Saturday. Thank you ever so much to all the people who came, especially those who helped out, and those I hadn't expected to be able to come, but made it anyway.

There were just over 30 people, representing a real cross-section of my friends, but who amazingly seemed to all get on really well and not feel left out. And I'm glad so many people got to meet liv, if only briefly.

There was a variety of interesting alcohol, including mead (thank you Ian) and desert wine (thank you Richard), an entirely different collection of which was left at the end than was present at the beginning :) There seemed to be just about the right amount of snacks laid in: lots of snacks, but about half way through people suddenly got ravenous and dived into the fruit and hot savoury snacks and Pavanne's beautiful food.

Unfortunately, I started feeling really ill about half way through, either from pushing myself too hard all week or from something I ate. If I seemed a quiet, it was because I felt really tired, but wanted to keep socialising, and was very grateful I could conveniently just sit and enjoy conversations without having to shepherd them :)

I also had a great rest-of-week with Liv, where me managed to squeeze in just about everything we wanted into the few days we were around.

May Week Party Sat 20th June, from 8pm

There will be a may week party at Cartesian Heights from 8pm, to commemorate moving jobs, the end of another university year, world juggling day, and livredor's leaving Sweden. (If livredor is in Cambridge, she will be there, but we don't know if that's possible yet.)

Please bring friends and food. RSVP not necessary (though if you're likely to come, a reply would be helpful).
