It remains famously completely impossible to attack from Syria into Israel. In 1973, the Syrians threw five divisions at two Israeli brigades and basically drew - that is, the northern brigade held entirely, and while they broke through in the less mountainous south, didn't do so fast enough or cohesively enough to withstand the counterattack once the Israelis brought up their reserves. (It turns out to be a bad idea to attack Israel on Yom Kippur; as the entire country is shut down, the army can go about mobilising all the reservists without any distractions from anything else going on).
Given all of this (and given that numerical superiority is of more use to modern than ancient armies), I am not sure how much credit for all this God can really claim...
