Squee! Pippa's party was fun. She looked really gorgeous in a black top and frilly black skirt. Sorry if I kissed you too much, see the fourth paragraph.

I saw fhtagn and foreverdirt, who I haven't seen for ages, which was nice. And Tim K, who emerged blinking very slightly closer to the light from his last year project. Also Mark W, Edith and Becky.

And many sweet clasicists. Very nicely everyone mingled well, avoiding the occasional problem of a group of clasicists with a scientist cowering in the corner or a group of scientists with a clasicist hiding in the corner which occasionally happens at these things.

I was quite drunk -- I don't seem to drink much these days so when I do it affects me -- but I seem to have hit "amusing and outgoing" rather than "weird" which is good. The party was lively, with good music, and *extremely* weird conversations. "What if necrophilia was mandatory in Sweden" probably gives you a sense of the tone :)

A new meme is born. Foreverdirt and fhtagn introduced us to Snakes on a Plane: The Film and Snakes on a Plane: The Roleplaying game.

"The film was featured in Wired Magazine as 'The worst film of 2006,' despite being given the 'award' in January 2006, based only on the title and concept of the movie."

"At one point, the film's working title was altered to Pacific Air Flight 121. In August 2005, a perturbed Samuel L. Jackson told an interviewer, 'We're totally changing that back. That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title.'"

"Deciding that so many anonymous fans couldn't be wrong, the studio decided to revert to the movie's original title, 'Snakes on a Plane'"

And eponymously, I must share the obvious maths joke, from snakesonablog.com: Snakes on a Plane

ETA: In case there is any doubt, the movie is about snakes on a plane. To me it looks like it will be really crap, but it's worth it just for the title. They're SNAKES! And they're on the mutherfuckin' PLANE!

ETA: No offense, mum :)
