Optimising Winnie-the-Pooh
Jul. 31st, 2006 03:56 pmA brief extract from the internal processes of Jack's mind:
Me: Ooh! You could just run the game from a VNC server. All that has to be transferred is about 100 pairs of coords, that's one packet. And the client just has to copyrect them from an offscreen buffer, most will be cached already. It's crazy but it might just work.
VNC: *doesn't have an offscreen buffer*
Me: Doh.
But Ian and Adam had some good suggestions on making it usable, and whether or not to be turn-based, so I may do some editing. It unfortunately probably won't become accessible to anyone it's not currently, though.
I have some more levels, but am slightly stalled on piglet's AI. Thanks to everyone who asked, I do hope to publish another dectuplet.
