So, apparently this week is "be nice to nettles week". And today is "cut the hair of three year old male children day".
You cannot make this stuff up. Although, I mean, obviously someone DID make this stuff up, but I mean, I, personally, can't.
We figure being nice to nettles is more about not hurting their feelings by thinking of them as tenacious, tasty, useful British plants and not just bad stingy things, rather than by not physically attacking them, so we've been waving and saying "hello nettles" when we see them and going up to them say "nice nettles, here, no need to worry". They seem friendlier, but it's sort of hard to tell. We didn't try approaching them too close to see if they'd still bite.
