I discovered my brain is a lot happier if I always have a specific project I'm working on, whatever else I'm doing. July-Sep this year is devoted to creative things I hope will be fun.
First half of July was board game design, I'd hoped to do several things but in the end I spent most of the time taking "XENOBOTANY: Scientists go to dangerous alien planet and collect samples" from vague ideas about mechanics to specific rules I could try playing. It still feels like a game there but I was too optimistic about how close I was: I'd hoped to try a few different versions of the rules, but I barely got to one.
The second half of July is devoted to blogging or non-fiction writing. I am going to try to write a blog post or a series of interesting micro-blog posts every day. Unlike December Days I'm going to stay away from prompts and longer posts and try to write something *short*, that is actually *interesting* whatever the topic.
