Apologies for anyone not seeing the chi in the title, I may not be using the most-compatible way of putting greek in html. Feel free to educate me.

A brief summary of my next couple of weeks. Christmas with my parents, grandparents, and Aunt and Uncle at the last's house. Possibly a few days break with my friend Justin. Back to cambridge for new year, probably with a couple of close friends (T, J and other halves) though I could be persuaded to consider something else :)

Presents: The latest Neal Stephenson Quicksilver trilogy. Squee! TV & microwave for the flat. Squee! Chocolate (I don't know for sure, but it always turns up somewhere :)).

Birthday: Gah! Ick! I'm going to be 23 in january. Kill me first and no-one mention that again :)

I'm going to be 24 in January.

But you'll be 23 first.

Do I have to kill you now?

*passes the chocolate*.

What be the plans for new year? Jenni and I, plus other halves, will probably be at the Carlton new year's party. Perhaps we could relive the old days. (Though Marisa is in Poland..)

Then again perhaps not :-)

It was tentatively mooted that T & J and other halves would come to mine for new year. I like your plan very much, but I'd have to consider how, say, Tatiana, would get on with the typical Carlton crowd...

How do you know when I'll be 23? Or will you be 24 on the 31st? Uh, I mean, yes, thank you, chocolate cures everything.

I'm not actually a conneseur of chocolate, it just seems an appropriate pick-me-up. The companionship is the main thing. Ditto lager.

Hmm, good point. To be honest I don't know if it'll be the Carlton crowd there; it's the Carlton themselves organising a party, with free buffet, jukebox and a raffle for champagne. I've not heard mention of it on other Thursday-crowd livejournals, though others may be able to enlighten me, especially as I've not been to a Thursday in a while. (Somehow sitting in a pub while I should be revising doesn't sit well with me, but having a small party at home is fine..)

Good point. Though I'd somehow expect at least someone to show up at the promise of buffet. I guess I could just say "Hey, there's a local pub with a good party on, why don't we go! Hey, fancy seeing you here, Jenni(e)!" :)

Yeah, isn't it weird?

Hee hee. Well, it was worth mentioning at least.

Damn the human (body|mind)'s ability to procrastinate.

Ah, the multiplicity of communication.

My lectures from this term for the exams in January. Yes. January. DAMN THEIR EYES.

Ah, the multiplicity of communication.

Mwaa? What?

My lectures from this term for the exams in January.

Yaah! No, bad! Don't say it! Poor jennie! *hug* But at least it's only one term's worth -- surely you can manage some thursdays off?

I have more in April. PAH. At least these are only worth (25% - coursework which is 25% of each course) = 18.75% iirc. If I took thursdays off, and New Year and Christmas and seeing parents and ... I'd never get any work done :-( For some reasons I work especially best in the evenings and early morning (er, 4am rather than 8, that is).

When I find I work best last thing I think it's because if I'm working first thing I think 'lots of time' but last thing I just want to get it over with. If I promised myself afternoons off I could work in the morning, but I never believe myself.

You need a web geek for that. What I did was type &chi; which shows up as χ1. You should also be able to use <font face=Symbol>X</font>. But I'm not sure how you're supposed to do it if you want actual greek, like, as in, if you were greek, as opposed to just getting the odd letter.

[1] In case you're curious, to get &chi; I typed &amp;chi; though there'd be other ways, basically typing &chi; but doing anything that breaks it up so it doesn't get turned into χ such as &<made up tag>chi;
