I find your comment about being at the stage where you *could* get a single room interesting. The [Bad username or site: toothycat' / @ livejournal.com]s didn't understand why I wanted to pay half the price to get a single room 1 mile away from the conference venue for Minamicon.
Unless it's my honeymoon or something I don't mind compromising on lodgings, for me it's just somewhere I sleep in. I snore, so I would avoid sharing a room wherever possible, and I would be unhappy sharing a double bed with someone (well, with a guy at least).
