I had the autonomy interview today. It seemed to go reasonably well. They asked the right sort of questions - projects I'd done, to write briefly a passage of code, discussed error handling - which I mostly handled OK. Some talk about pay, what I'd do for them, etc, suggested hiring is still on the cards. I've been asked to come back next week to talk to a 'higher-up' - I gather someone less techie, but with the authority to make decisions.

I walked there and back, and was fortunate to arrive at home looking like a drowned rat, not at the interview.

Sounds very different from my interview. Probably a good thing! I went there three times in all (mainly 'cause the person I was supposed to see kept not being there, and I never did get to see him in the end). They do pay for taxis (or did mine, anyway)...
