Setting a game in, eg. Paris, is very problematical, because you keep wondering "Why does my character insist on breaking into $museum just to get $($(attribute)object), and refuse to walk to a shop and buy one?"

I was skimming through the post and when I saw this note I thought you were referring to Broken Sword, which is one of the few point and click adventures I've played. Have you played any of the Broken Sword games? (Well, 1 or 2. The third one is 3D, and thus is somewhat different...)
