It is only a matter of time before affinity-branded printers turn up in the shops. Arsenal Emirates Inkjet, anyone?
Me, I'm waiting for the metalhead branded Mötörhead Printör: any colour you like, as long as it's black... And don't tempt me to vary the carriage-motor (or mötör) speeds to play the opening bars of 'Ace of Spades'.
My old printer was a cheap-ish lexmark inkjet, which had a driver which constantly announced what it was doing: "Printing started", "Insert tray into auto sheet feeder", etc, etc. Apparently many people had a similar one, judging by the solidarity when I complained about it.
I decided to turn the noise off, as the annoyance wasn't worth it. (Some auditory feedback is useful but I didn't want so much false bonhomie it was distracting :))
