I usually try to force myself through my chores before flopping; so it's work, gym, home, eat, chores, TV TIME (DVDs mostly, and I knit in front of the TV which is like multitasking efficiency!). With a brief "spod a bit" before eating while rjk causes food.
However sometimes I find I'm just shoving dishes around on autopilot; MORE SLEEP NEEDED.
A very helpful sewing friend says I should slow down and think more before starting; I did have to explain that that approach leads to excessive thinking and no starting. I do normally find the "oh just dive right in and get started" approach and the "something, anything, is better than nothing" approach work quite well for me. But obviously not for everyone.
