More thoughts on Poe and Finn in the early part of the movie.

Why does Poe say the "you need a pilot" line, when Finn is rescuing him? It seems like, even if Finn was a bad guy, take the chance while you have it! It's really brave of Finn to defect right then, rather than just freeze up. He could have just fired over people's heads and hoped no-one noticed, and then Poe's criticising him. After all, it's not like Poe rescued Finn before either, they're both escaping, they both help each other, there's no hypocrisy in that.

Poe can't resist quipping whether it's appropriate or not, it's a coping mechanism?
It's sexual tension?
If it is a trap, he doesn't want to look stupid?
He actually thinks Finn is being hypocritical?

When I first saw it, I was bothered by the last, but now I think about it, he was clearly joking, but in a way that's not actually supposed to be critical, that they both know Finn would have taken any excuse to take Poe with them.

Or maybe, he doesn't trust Finn yet, for all he knows, Finn HAS killed lots of innocent people.
