There will be an LJ picnic on Jesus Green, Cambridge, UK on Sunday the 14th of May, from around 2pm. We'll meet toward the town end of Jesus Green, by Lower Park Street. Nobody is organising this; it'll just happen. Please turn up, be sensible, bring food and drink, meet new people, have fun.

Lalalalala, flying back from E3.... :D

Wonder if I should reply to all the picnic-meme posts this way. Though only a specific subset of people will be jealous.

LOL. This is where you need a cross-posting system, so you'd only have to do it once. Also, *ooh*, though actually I'm out of the loop on any video games in the last few/many years.

Are you doing something specific there, or just everything?

Everything, yeah.. running the entire show, manning all the booths single-handedly, giving four keynotes...

nah, i'm reporting on it for AOL.

Not all their things, all your things. I know you do lots of gaming stuff, but couldn't remember exactly what was important now.

You know that thing cartoons do when they see/hear something really amazing or shocking? Where their mouths drop to the ground and make an 'ONG!!' noise like a hammer hitting a heavy anvil?

Yeah.

That a reaction to E3, the picnic, or both? :)

Hehe. Most of it still is important. I'm being flown/accommodated/paid by AOL (Joystiq) but also going to meet up with the American side of PMS/Frag Dolls for some good old girlie chats ;)

Hey, if you knew how much of a gamer I was...

You probably wouldn't be impressed =P You went to E3!

Well, I own four gaming mediums, soon to be five, I've purchased approximately 250 games with my own money (at the age of sixteen), I devote a considerable portion of practically every day to gaming and I have a to do list which is comprised mainly of 'Complete X Game'. I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember; my parents tell me I had a computer of my own at 14 months old, and not once have I left a game unfinished.

But, you know, you went to E3 =P

Awesome. You guys are the future. I have little patience for finishing games, but I acknowledge you on every other point :P

For context, if you haven't stalked me thoroughly yet; I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] cartesiandaemon's from college, now working as a game journalist (when I'm not working on my PhD), flirting with the pro gaming circuit (such as it exists in the UK) and currently spending what little free time I have in WoW. Tee hee. I'll still get mistaken for a booth babe at E3 though. It's been one of my ambitions to go for years, so we'll see.

It's possible I may have met you; did you attend Jack's birthday party?

Don't think so.. I wasn't here much towards the end of last year. But I'm not very good at keeping track of which parties I have and haven't been to :)
