Pasta bake, clingfilmed and fridged, is still good the next day. In fact, very good -- I don't know about anyone else, but I do like my cooking, which is exceptionally staggeringly serendipitous. (I should cook it every weekend and eat it up through the week.)

Speaking of "serendipitous," how do people cope when they don't have a university sponsored subscription to OED.com? Do you pay cahs£money for a dictionary? Just muddle through guessing which vowels are which?

Speaking of which, finally another word of a day that's interesing. "Callipygous" means "having beautifully proportioned buttocks"; I intended to use it when buying peaches.

The other one I like if "lucubrate." As I've said before, I find it absurd that 'lucubrate' being just one word, can translate as working hard, pedanticly, pretentiously, perspiringly, or not, by night or candlelight!

I put a holding deposit down on a house today! It's a lovely place, in acrefield drive, just over the river, (between river, elizabeth way and chesterton rd).

All that remains is:

(1) Lots of references to be found and sent in.
(2) Cursing at lots of small and medium admin fees.
(3) What shall we call it?
(4) How shall I celebrate? (I mean now, obviously there'll be a house warming in a month...)

The plan is a bit vague, but the general idea is that George and I and anyone else is celebrating step one success by going to the Castle straight after work, from about 5.30 to look at the application forms, and discuss a name, and for drink, and maybe food, and generally squeefullness.

If you can read this, you're welcome to join us. But please let me know there's even the possibility that you even might come along, because otherwise we might go somewhere else and not be able to tell you.
