Thoughts - Snickets
Sep. 10th, 2004 10:51 amToday (ie. Yesterday, ie. Thurs) I discovered two fun little snickets[1]. It's amazing how after 4 years in cambridge there's lots of streets I've just never been down, even right next to ones I have.
First: from the CMS to Grantchester. Go to the end of grange road and go straight on at the Hat and Feathers, and straight on at the corner down a little unpaved road. Turn left through a little gate into a cul-de-sac and right at the end down a little alleyway. Straight down the road you come out on and presto! Grantchester meadows, and a nice walk through the fields.
Second: from Montmorency[2] to Oblivion. Straight up Lizzie[3] Way, straight on at two roundabouts, and right along a back street. Then in a staright line just parallel to Arbury Road for ages, through a few streets, a little park, a mini shopping centre, budgens carpark, a roadabout, and into Fortescue Road.
It's amazing what you discover. I didn't know until the other day that "Tog" was a measure of duvet weight either; no-one just ever used the word in front of me.
