Thursday

Mum and dad visited on their way back from the Suffolk coast path. Dad and I walked into town and on to grantchester, and back, and played two games of pool (which he won) and four games of crib (which I won). Mum and I chatted about our lives and DVDs, bought fudge from the fudge kitchen, and saw the Chronophage clock. Dad helped massively much clearing the overground back yard, which now sports a really nice patio again.

Friday

I got interested in writing web apps again, and threw myself into getting a hosting provider and a few pages with an openID login and a trivial database.

Sat lunchtime

I met fishpi for a long lunch in Clowns and on Jesus Green, comparing notes on jobs, web hosting, cars and life. I watched volleyball on Jesus Green with lizzip and other birthday picnic friends.

Sat afternoon

I went to poohsoc which was very busy, very boisterous and very funny. I took along my camera to get some photos of people for ravingglory to scrapbook before she leaves, and was very pleasantly surprised at how many really nice portraits I managed to snap, considering my essential inexperience with a camera.

Afterwards we went to Trinity cafeteria, which was much as I remembered. Other than the people I'd gone in with, I knew only weebleflip, but she'd ALSO returned to CU just for the day :)

Sat evening

Two rounds of automatic fire with the machine gun aerosoliszed three to four demons before they could move. The truck exploded, kamikaze driven into the middle of the rest of the crowd of demon-vampires, essentially emptying the room.

The psyker overloaded himself on EXACTLY the right role, overloading or more his power on 4/5 dice, instantly barbecuing the last two demons coming up from behind in a 60-damage fireball. Three dice showed "backfire", three 9s all in a row, and we though the moment of self-immolation we'd been waiting for all campaign had come, but the backfire was entirely harmless.
