Hand cream

I got some generic moisturiser from Tesco and in the short term it helped a lot. If it doesn't solve the problem I'll see if I can get something more heavyweight.

Looking at my hands I'm a little shocked at how cracked they'd got. I'd mentally consigned this to the category of "little things to sort out when I have time, after all, other people have real problems, surely I shouldn't complain about some cracked skin". But it did look a bit like I beat up a brick wall in a boxing match :)

I still only have a partial understanding of what constitutes "moisturiser"/"aqueous"/"emollient" and which brands are fall under one general umbrella term, and which brands represent something qualitatively different.

Beeminder tracks resolutions of any sort.

It's built on the idea that you can precommit to paying a monetary penalty (to charity). I found even mentioning that idea was a bit overkill, and simlpy signing up was a sufficient commitment, but if you want to make a resolution and fear you may simply forget about it it may be useful.

I decided to track my gym-going there as well fitocracy. I've only done it for one week, but it seems a fairly good idea for recording "have I kept this resolution or not" and I intend to try it for any other habits I want to cement.

I found the interface very confusing, though. I expected "I want to do this twice a week" to be really obvious (especially given the cute little bee icon!) but it seemed jargon-y (there were three or four suggested 'get started' but it wasn't obvious to me what the differences were). I have a feeling I may have missed an introductory "get started by doing this" page or something.

Got about half of christmas presents ✓

(Which is only for immediate family. We're not especially good at presents, even that much taxes our imagination to the limit.)

Somewhere to live for the next six months ✓

I'm not as psyched up as I could be because I still have a bunch of stuff to sort out (double bed, removals, utilities, etc). But I've signed a contract and sent a deposit so I should be not-homeless for another six months as of 28th Dec.
