Well, I'm sure it wasn't objectively great, but I really enjoyed it.
* It was definitely an attempt to have greater battles than the previous two films, which worked well this time, but if they decide to continue, I hope they do something a little different rather than trying to be even more apocalpytic.
* A couple of things seemed stupid -- can't Magneto keep some metal around to be a shield in case someone attacks him with plastic, and why build a magneto-henchman prison made of metal? -- but most was cool, with many interesting little touches like Kitty dragging Bobby and Juggernaut into the ground, or Rogue and Colossus becoming titanium together.
* I in fact teared up when Magneto said "I have been marked once, my dear and let me assure you, no needle shall ever touch my skin again." And "You talk pretty touch for a guy in a cape," was cool too.
* The golden gate bridge bit was cool if gratuitous. And they barely scratched the surface of available jokes.
"Hello? Sir? You're not going to believe this but..."
"Go go golden bridge attack!"
"They'll never reach here. You might as well say they could fly the--" "DON'T SAY IT!"
I'm always a sucker for riding the storm[1] type visuals.
* We lost a lot of villains, though it looks like the cure may wear off (doh). In fact the films feel more like a series. I would quite like a break from epic, for instance have a film where Xavier and Jean are gone, and Magneto's human, and Chinese Porcupine Guy survived and the lesser X-men foil some non-world-ending scheme.
* There are many characters, too many to fit much about any, but actually I kind of like it. Almost all seem to be clearly painted in moments of screen time, including Colossus, and Hank, and porcupine guy, and tree-point-throwing guy, and so on. Archangel was gratuituous visuals and comic reference, but he was cool. He was exactly the right actor for an Angel, abalaster handsome but looking so righteous you want to smack him.
