Thanks again for all the advice. We have decided to go with NTL because they can connect us in one rather than six weeks. The free phoneline offer disappeared ("ran out of connections"), but they knock £50 of the price. *shrug*. Just remind me to cancel BT (unless we want a phoneline).

Offline

Trinity has finally cut me off completely. I can check email (1) for one hour out of 24 at the public library (2) by 'borrowing' my neighbours wireless[1] or (3) visiting friends and saying "While I'm here..."

The point being, that if I ignore you, it's nothing personal :)

[1] I wouldn't.

Very good point. Thanks. I'm leaving it a couple of days in case we find a better deal and decide to cancel NTL and wait for BT after all. But it would be so easy to forget.

Still, worst case we get a phone line as well as broadband. Not the end of the world... :)

oh yes, you know there's free interweb at the gradpad during the day? (assuming you're still in Cambridge?)

Actually, no, good advice. Is that for everyone, or what?

yeah. there's a room which has machines for pwf access, on the top floor, if you still have a pwf account.

there are two computers for general use, on the top floor, in the cafe.

There's also (sometimes) (sometimes iffy) wifi (best on the top floor).
