Actually, if i cook I cook puddings, as they're more fun to eat. I might be giving moral support for a viva on saturday though, if not I can come over with my copy of Delia's how to cook.
If you get stuck I have a easy pudding for all occasions: Weight n eggs (3 for a medium cake). Dump an equal mass of flour, sugar and butter into a bowl with the broken eggs minus shells. Add lemons/chocolate/almost ex-apples/syrup/whatever themed pudding you're making. Mix, preferably with electricity. Bake 1/2 hourish at 200Cish until the centre isn't liquid.
If you're really feeling fancy you can whip the egg whites first.
Family recipe. My Mum has the same attitude to the amount of time that should be spent in a kitchen as me :)
