This is the one set in a 60s future, or maybe the 10s future. It reminds me a little of Buck Rogers. It has grandeur, it's very beautiful. Technology is propeller-planes, vast floating fortresses, and robots of all sorts, giant flying humanoids, ornithopters, squid humanoids.

But it doesn't actually seem to go anywhere, the characters are nice, but not very inspired. The plot is ok, but doesn't really make sense.

yes, that was my feeling. It had the potential to be very, very good, but never quite got there. I hope somebody makes a sequel, or something else set in the same world, because the setting was fantastic.

Oh, I'm glad someone else agreed with me. The reason I own so many dire DVDs is because I fell in love with what I wanted them to be...
