I've stalled on recommending the list cartoons I read, but I still mention any new ones I come across.

Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic (here) is good because:

* It's a humorous study of living in a Dungeons and Dragons world
* But about what it is to be a dnd-evil character, rather than about the mechanics
* It's drawn in line art, but well -- I generally love cartoons that use the format to convey essentially verbal jokes, but a few actually convey things with pictures
* The characters are evil but sympathetic, and mostly non-altruistic, but not evil for the sake of evil, which is a concept that's funny once (hahaha, look how it confounds expectations because the parents are pleased when the kid is nasty) but I've seen and now has got old
* The characters are nice -- I defy you not to love Turg and Lewie :)
* The characters are kinky, if you're looking for wholesome bdsm...

How is your adventure game progressing?

The point-and-click monkey-island alike? On hold for now, I'm afraid. It was fun, but got overtaken by other things. I will come back to it, but only after a while.

That's rather good. Very, ah, exuberantly drawn l-)

LOL. Yes. I had a variety of qualms about it, but also it seemed so exactly the sort of thing so many of my friends like so much :)

Argh, I've just spent the last 4 work-hours reading all of that! :)

:) I think I spent longer than that... Of course, I *need* *something* to take a break on, something sufficiently non-intensive I can browse and flick back, else whenever I need a break from work I'll wander away and not come back for hours.

On the other hand, most of it is work safe, and no-one easily offended overlooks my desk, and most of it was after people had left, but still, tied up naked people with whips isn't the *most* work safe thing to ever appear on a monitor :)

Oh, yes, definitely not WS. Fortunately my monitors all face the wall behind me, so I don't generally have to worry about WS issues so long as I keep the volume muted on my computers :).

:)

Yes, I basically consider *any* sound non-work-safe, hence muting (or headphones).

Somewhere I had a hierarchy of non-work-safeness, but I can't remember how I ordered it now. Something like:

0. Work.
1. Text.
2. Graphics.
3. Lascivious or wtf graphics or headings, small illegalities
4. Soft-core porn, disturbing images,
5. Hard-core porn, extremely disturbing images,
6. Major illegalities, major immoralities, and blink tags.

So this is about 3.5, the bondage moves it up, but the cartoon-nature moves it down :) About the limit of what I'd do -- workspaces have a similar hierarchy of "ok", "ok to see, but not to swell on" and "please don't" :)

I think I'd probably put it at mostly a 3, there are some strips which are a little higher, but I'm less worried about it in general than I am about some adverts on OKCupid's silly meme polls, for instance (the canonical example of 'WTF, what are NWS adverts doing on this page?).

Oh yes, I'd mostly say 2 or 3, I was thinking of the least work safe strips (or series).

WTF, what are NWS adverts doing on this page

Yeah, always unfortunate. No, this site is perfectly reasonable to look at in the lunch break? What? Oh, the gigantic buttocks. That's an advert.
