jackI saw The Prestige again. This is a film that really does benefit from being watched twice[1]. It's intricate, so many small touches and scenes only give their full meaning when you know what's going to happen. I don't know if I want to watch it *again*, that might be too much, but it is very well done.
The first time, I actually had difficulty telling Angier and Borden apart, when they had similar clothes and often similar attitudes, and that was *really* confusing :) In fact, Hugh Jackman seems to do very well. Angier *is* fey at times, but is a totally different character to Wolverine and Van Helsing.
[1] Not that films needing watching twice are necessarily better. Pros: contain more stuff; entertain for longer; give too different experiences. Cons: some repetition; sometimes you don't want to work hard. Not saying either is right but both have strengths.
