I was expecting to want to post a review of Torchwood, but I couldn't be bothered. My thoughts are in everyone else's comments. I think I really amused you-know-who-you-are by wanting to watch it? :)

However, conveniently, foreverdirt made a wonderful post about it, so I can just link to that. http://foreverdirt.livejournal.com/339789.html. [I think non-locked] The only difference is that (I think) she sees that as an unreservedly good thing, and I don't.

Ah! I forgot, the conversation spun off on someone else's lj, not about dust, but about whether creating a universe like the autoverse is ok (or immoral, or required), which had analogies to God.

What did you want to say about PCity?

I wanted to just say that I've avoided reading your post about it because I really like Greg Egan, and I don't want to be spoiled before I read it.

Have you read Diaspora? I got that for Christmas (and could lend it on if you like).

Mair is excited, and (a) wants to draw attention to herself, and hint *she* would appreciate the bestowal of that favour and (b) is giving vent to the enthusiasm possessing another Egan would give :)

actually not quite. I am amused because *I* offered you my copy of diaspora when I was throwing it out, but you'd already bought it :)

I read it, it was too much like hard work for me ;)

Ah, sorry. Apparently interpretive dance is more complicated than I thought.

I thought she was telling us where the food was.

Ah, I see! Well, feel free to borrow it if you see me before you acquire it [or have it already]. It's tricky, there aren't many *specific* spoilers, but you probably would enjoy reading it first and then comparing conclusions with everyone else.

I've read Diaspora, Permutation City, and the Axiomatic and Luminous collections, if I recall correctly.

Thanks ^_^

I'm going to read through my current book list first, then I may ask to borrow it (although I like having shiny books on my bookshelf). Books are to me like shoes are to stereotypical women.
