Again I was a bit tired all day, but again I perked up in the evening a lot. Roleplaying was cancelled and I went to tolkien society games; this was really jolly. I didn't know how CTS was getting on as I hadn't been for ages, but the committee and other current regulars did seem to have been having fun. (It was nice that Emma's stint as president hadn't put her off.)

In beard news, I had two more favourite comments. Ewan's was simply "Ming the Merciless" which pleased me immensely. Emma's (one of the few most non-geek friends I know) was just a spontaneous "it really suits you", but completely spontaneous, not having seen me for so long it wasn't a shock.

When I've shaved, I've been remembered to leave some stubble in the pattern I want it to grow into (at the bottom corners, to bring them more square). It's really difficult, it's too easily to wake up and blearily hack all the stubble off without thinking. Come to think of it, I also need a hair cut some point this week. I need to try somewhere else, I basically just want it trimmed a bit shorter than this, but last time we couldn't get it right and we just shaved it back to grade mumblesmall and let it grow.

Would be interesting to compare beard shapes. I suspect it's similar to my current layout, which is shorter than in this icon.

I claim the largest beard at the CTS meeting. (Though the poorest knowledge of Tolkien :_)

Can you email me at douglas.reay (at) gmail.com when you know what would be a convenient evening for me to collect the DVDs ?

Indeed, although Matt Reid probably gives you a run for most extreme hair over time :) And don't feel embarrassed about knowledge of Tolkien: some people know a lot about the wider works of middle earth, but many (such as me) have read and loved LOTR and not much more, but enjoy talking about it and the CTS people. (IIRC Pete Corbett was once webmaster having only read the hobbit :))

I hope you had fun.

DVDs: Do you owe me any back, I can't remember? I know I have some of your books, but I think still unread, if you aren't in any hurry. I'm in tonight but unsociable, if you want to drop round briefly. If you want to lend me a random couple of books, that would be appreciated, I know your house is overflowing, although I don't have time for suggestions. Otherwise, good times would be: tell me the day before and come to my work during the day; Saturday or Sunday lunchtime; ask me nicely and I'll drop them through your letter box; next weds evening.

Quite, I think it probably is, but I'm not sure. What I most wanted was something that looks neat, and started with as square as I could, and we'll see. It's also abbreviated directly below the tip of the chin (helpfully guiding people to where to stroke).
