Livredor and I are in Amsterdam over the weekend. We mostly know what we'll be doing, but will have some time to do touristy stuff we haven't really decided. Where should we go?

I am just writing you an ENORMOUS logistical mail, but there are gaps in it to fill in with "fun touristy stuff".

When we went we didn't go to the Heineken Experience, and ended up regretting it. OTOH we went to the Van Gogh museum, which was much better than I expected and sounds much more cultured and respectable when you discuss it with friends back home.

Also, if you want a very good meal and don't mind an eye-watering price, I can recommend a restaurant called Le Ciel Bleu. It's right at the top of one of the tallest hotel blocks, and all the tables are arranged round the edge with great views of the city. I can't vouch for its vegetarian-friendliness I'm afraid.

When I went I went to see the Anne Frank house, and the Rijksmuseum (Night Watch is quite cool). I'd recommend both
