Q. What do you get if you cross:

* a musical
* a videoblog style format
* a league of supervillains
* writing by Joss Whedon
* Nathon Fillon (aka Malcolm Reynolds aka Caleb) playing a smug larger-than-life jerk, Captain Hammer

A. Doctor Horrible's Sing-along Blog

I didn't like it as much as most other people I know, but it's very much worth watching! I particularly like: the balanced characterisation of the "hero" and "villain"; and the most epic moments of solo singing.

I like! A bit. Thanks for link.

You missed "Katherine's husband on Desperate Housewives" from Fillon's CV. I would imagine the crossover audience is quite small, but it was initially mildly disorientating to see Mal in Wisteria Lane...

I have heard a few people excited about both. I've seen a couple of episodes of DH; I like TV with voiceovers the way I like books with footnotes :) But I never got into it. I certainly know a few people who wanted to see desperate housewives because of NF, although I never liked him that much (I loved Mal Reynolds, but not enough to seek NF out elsewhere), so I knew he was in it.

But I forgot, because I didn't imagine anyone who'd seen DH, and want to see NF, but who didn't know he was in Buffy. Come to think of it, there may well be such people, I wouldn't know, they're just probably not on my friends list :)
