Sat, walking into town. I ran into Saalim, nearly literally. He's at LSE now. <-- That's funny because it seems like everyone is constantly telling me that.

Sat, lunchtime. Met [livejournal.com profile] bachlover for lunch. We had fun, and went to dojo's, (mmm... noodly) which I haven't for a while, and were apparently amazingly serendipidous in arriving just in time for a table outside. And as I hope she won't mind my saying she looked unspeakably delectable, if cold, in a very sleeveless blue shirt and artfully draped scarf. I found someone to laugh at the "A monk went to Joshu and said 'Two cats are sitting on a roof'..." joke, as she'd read Godel, Escher, Bach too.

Sat, in front of Trinity. Met Joy (natsci, friend of lots of friends) in a great hurry.

Sat, minutes later in Heffers. Finally bought Mr. Norris. It's exactly the sort of book I love, from the langauge to the digressions to the sort of magic to the innovative metaphysics to the characters.

Sat, shortly after on the backs I was reading on the backs when David and [livejournal.com profile] wednesdayschild came up behind me and stroked my hair. I may look bald, but it is amazing like that: I feel sorry for pregnant women and Jesus :) Then we sat for about an hour having a pleasantly nostalgic and surreal conversation.

Sat, sitting on the backs, Saalim, *again*, going past driving a punt full of girls.

Sat, dashing home for buffy I passed a bike shop, browsed, found a man who sounded reasonably knowledgable and honest, and bought one. Then I pushed it home because I hadn't ridden for ten years and had a rucksack full of cans.

Sat, evening The lovely [livejournal.com profile] tienelle came round and helped me watch doctor who, and told me about time-travelling roleplaying games. I thought this ep was good, though not as good as the first one, am eager to see how it'll progress. I tried to tape it, but my Haupage Dec box isn't living up to my hopes.

Sun afternoon. I ventured out on my new bike to meet Justin, and during the normal wrangling about meeting place I hopped off to see Joy (a different Joy, from CUSFS) reading on a bench. We went off together to meet J, bought DVDs, J and I met T&R for coffee later and we all made fun of each other like old times :)

Mon morning. I came in for 9.25, and saw people I knew cycling.

Is either of those Joys the Joy I sort of know?

Also, I haven't squeed about Buffy being on, have I? Should do that. Am enjoying seeing the first ones again. Though no Spike :( And Angel looks indecently young...

I don't know, which joys do you know?

Ah, but anticipation: you know Spike will come soon, and then he'll be all manly and evil again!

Damn, I wish I'd got the recording fixed though.

The same joy that Nick knows? Yes. (Or so I assume; there may be more than one Joy at kings.) How do you know her?

Well, start of the second season...

Sort of. The magic digibox tends to give up after ten minutes, so I don't exactly have a recording I can fix, I have a recording system I need to fix.

*grins* Oh, I like that one. (Another GEB reader here.)

LOL. Yes, I'd forgtten you probably would be; though in addition you need a really awful sense of humour, but apparently mathmos are heavy there too :)

Are either of those Joys the Joy I know through (Tom), (Stuart through dancing), (randomly meeting in Materials Science)?

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Yes, the Natsci friends-of-friends one is that one.
