Angel series 2: home office
Feb. 21st, 2011 01:21 pmHome OfficeIn one episode, Angel steals the dimension-hopping ring from one of the senior partners, and uses it to travel to the home office dimension, which turns out to be Earth, because of how Wolfram & Hart depend on the viler emotions of humanity to exist here at all.
It's not stated how this squares up with their -- apparent -- existence in other dimensions, such as Pylea?
In the following episode, Darla acquires the ring, and says it doesn't work, and Lindsay tells her there was a disenchanting ceremony afterwards. The question is, was this supposedly completed before Angel completed his elevator ride, making the whole "Earth is home office" idea a bluff? Or was it after that and dead Holland Manners was telling the truth? Or he was just lying anyway?
W&H ranks
For that matter, what exactly is the organisation of W&H? In season 1, Lindsay is promoted to Junior Partner in Holland Manners' place, who says he is going "upstairs". I presumed that meant to work in head office on another plane. But he continues to hang around as VP of special projects, commanding Lindsay and Lilah.
At some unspecified point Lilah is also promoted to Junior Partner, or was already at the start of season 1?
At the end of Season 1, a demon of some sort arrives to do some W&H machinations. So was that a representative/messenger of the senior partners, but not one?
Is the hierarchy:
The Senior Partners, the original founders.
Other senior partners, if any (I think none?)
Other extraplanar entities reporting directly to the senior partners and senior to all the human employees (Are there any? Are the demons shown more senior, or just terrifying by being messengers from the partners?)
VPs and any other senior roles
Other Junior Partners (everyone above this level is a junior partner)
Associates (ie. other lawyers)
That sounds... overly complicated. Is it inconsistent, or did I just get the wrong impressions form series 1 & 2?
