Printer update

Thanks to all. I tried running the cleaning cycle, and tried cleaning the cartridge manually, and got a trickle of colour out but no more, so I went ahead and replaced it and the new cartridge worked fine.

I still feel embarrassed that a supposed intelligent, technical person can spend their whole life being outwitted by Lexmark :)

Ah, Lexmark, maker of my first 2 printers.

Whose printer drivers became obsolete and whose cartridges were 1) hard to find and 2) in the case of the second machine, possibly discontinued.

I now have a (somewhat heavier and slightly more expensive) printer whose cartridges are available in drugstores.
