So, it was sort of like Avatar, except that all the natives had their bodies dissolved by acid to make fuel and their whole planet WAS destroyed, but it was ok because they got to drift through space as bodiless spirits, and the eight humanoids all survived?

Normally Doctor Who seems to save the "whole race being wiped out" for the "moral dilemma" and "narrowly averted" episodes?
