4. General Grievous was the only entity nominated more than once when I asked this question a few years ago.

I googled to check the stats on Fivetide before posting it, I didn't assume you'd be right unless you sounded really sure :)

I did think that surely there must be some Hindu gods which would help with this exercise, but I couldn't actually remember which one had how many arms. If we'd been having the conversation within reach of the Internet I would certainly have mentioned at least one.

I think their arms may be a bit optional, like Kali says "I want to look smart today, I'll put on some extra arms" :)

Well, we had smartphones, so we could have done if we actually needed to, we just preferred talking to each other :) Maybe phone-pub etiquette should be "you go away from the table to look something up" so you do if you think it's worth it, but you don't just drop out of the conversation every time someone says "I wonder..."

Cardinality of Def Leppard: as far as I can see Wikipedia thinks it has been five since 1992 but had been known to vary before that. So I'm guessing whatever you found on the Internet was out of date.

But on wikipedia it looks like it was almost continually five -- what I wasn't sure is if there was ever a period where you'd sensibly count them as four, or if four are considered "the" def leppard and someone else isn't really counted, or similar. I'd be happy with "Def Leppard after the car accident" or something, if it was accurate at the time.

The actual link was "What has seven arms and sucks? Def Leppard!" Which seemed pretty precise, but not very authoritative :)

Ah! OK. I wasn't sure if there was anything actually in that gap. That must have been a very briefly topical joke. (I guess "what has nine arms" works nearly as well but doesn't sound as euphonious :))

I could probably go with "authors of Adrenalize" or similar for 7.
