I'm surviving for a week without wired internet for complicated reasons.

On the one hand, it's amazing how sufficient my smart phone is (especially if I can allowably connect it to my laptop if I occasionally want a full screen). It's much, much better than the first internet we had (I remember "waiting for an image to load"...). On the other hand, it's nice not to have to worry about it at all.

Liv came back to Cambr for the weekend. We spent Saturday:

1. Being AMAZINGLY PRODUCTIVE and doing things which I'd been scared of for ages
2. Catching up on everything.
3. Going to friends' housewarming and saw all the people. Their house is ridiculously large and lovely, even if the commute is ok-but-faffier-than-ideal.

On Sunday we went to Cambridge limmud (Jewish conference). I heard talks about:

* An academic/activist look at what new myth should define Jewish identity
* Succeeding in getting different groups in Jerusalem to work together (which is pretty unbelievable, really)
* Aramaic in scripture and today
* How even 3rd century jews had already been living in a diaspora in coordinating learning between israel and babylon.
