I've talked about this before, but I'm coming around to actually thinking of it this way. I used to think of it as a binary choice "vegetarianism/not vegetarianism". Now I think of it more like, there's dozens of things that would be more ethical, that most people don't do all the time, and vegetarianism is one of them. So I still think it's right, but I don't find it surprising when people have other causes instead.
