Yesterday was zoo, but we ended up meeting Osos afterwards instead. Rachel and I walked through Camden market and had late lunch of street food, both of which were really great.

And then we went out to dinner with Osos at Mestizo (20 min walk from KX). They have an amazing volcano thing which I unfortunately don't really like, but I loved everything *else* so I'm really glad I went.

Rachel helpfully played cardboard novelist while I explained story problems to her.

Writing progress: I did well on Sat, but didn't get as far ahead as I'd hoped. Words 4100.
First sentence: "Vampire banquets tended to involve many types of fancy food in very tiny quantities, emphasising baroque tastes over nutrition."

Although I'm cheating a little by choosing sentences that have at least some meaning out of context.

I did think through a lot of plot on the train, and based on the ideas I already had, I think I have a fairly reasonable sequence of events to the end of the story.

Unfortunately, I was quite tired yesterday. I almost skipped the london trip even though it was pretty simple. And this morning I decided that I had no chance of getting anything done, alas. I don't know if I have a low key cold or just pushed myself too hard. I don't think I've been *doing* too much, but I think I've spent too much time worrying about trying to get things done. I think I need to consciously have more regular scheduled things, and regular scheduled downtime, and less "must do everything".

This cold that I've got is pretty awful. It's just ongoing and relentless. I took almost two whole days off last week with it, as I couldn't swallow solid food for two days, but I feel just as bad now as I did last Wednesday, which is to say, wondering whether I'm too ill to take the children to drama &c. Anyway, I'm hoping you're feeling better soon, and really glad you did come into London.
