Birthday and Hannukah!

jackMs 10 (previously Ms 9) had an awesome birthday party. Sadly some of the family and likely guests were sick so it wasn't as big as hoped, but went very well anyway.
Ghoti did an awesome job prepping many things: potion making station (mixing bath salts into potion bottles for later), wand making (chopsticks, paper, glue gun, colouring, etc), etc. And food, the pumpkin juice was great, as was many of the themed food.
And we played Quiddich, cut down rules for fewer people, smaller pitch, and no-one able to fly, and it was really fun! The rules worked surprisingly well, the main change I'd make is the obvious one of reducing the value of the snitch, you don't always want to play for 15 goals per game anyway, even if you could ensure the snitch-catching doesn't overwhelm the rest of the game (e.g. by having other players knocking the snitch away or similar).
Then we came home to do first night Hannukah, which despite not having a lot of time at home during Hannukah this year was really nice, we lit the first candle, and Liv made potato latkes which turned out amazing well this year, and we managed presents for everyone for at least the first night, and Liv thinks she has presents for the couple of other days she'll see non-cohabiting family.
