In summary, an american high-school football stadium's visitor's locker room is completely pink. Now it's a tradition, the idea being it's offputting to opposing teams.

However, a female professor says this is degrading to women. Isn't there something backwards about that?

It looks quite warm and pleasant, I was expecting something hideous like the bedroom in "But I'm A Cheerleader". Did they ask the women's football team, or do they have different changing rooms?

Afraid I don't know. (Were there pictures or just the video? I couldn't see that.)

There was the small picture in the corner that goes to make a slightly less small picture when you click on it.

Ah, ok. Yes, it looks fairly normal there. About the same as the 'light red' walls I tease a friend about :) All the fixtures being pink must be surreal though.

The women's team? I don't know. I obviously know they're typically comparatively ignored in american school because men's football is so traditional, but I don't know how that'd translate into changing rooms or offense.

It oculd be said they're encouraging male football players not to mix their whites and coloureds when they're washing their clothes.

Good job you summarised it - I couldn't get it to load.

Degrading to women? Hey, who said women had to wear pink? I never do unless it's either a) contrasted with a strong colour like black or dark grey, or b) outrageous film-fogging fuchsia. *grin*

Yeah, that was my point. *She*'s the one assuming pink=female. Maybe the jocks would, but there's nothing that says that.

I'm offended by the assertion that pink is a colour for women! I hate it. It is associated with a particularly feek and weable approach to stuff. Why should it be pink for girls and blue for boys? Blue is a much nicer colour!

Exactly! Maybe I need to make that more explicit in the post...

Yeah, definitely grip-failure going on there, I'd say.

She dropped the ball. She's losing it. Should be locked up. Etc.

I don't think people should actually be locked up merely for losing their grip in public...

That was supposed to be puns on football and lockerrooms. Sorry, I think I fumbled it.
