My new bike is still going. It is nice to have convenient flicky gears.

I've cycled down a few places I knew but have never cycled. The railway foot/cycle bridge. Garret Hostel[1] Bridge -- the route I got tired of when I lived at the back of Trinity.

Why can't we have big heavy spinning wheels on bikes to transfer momentum to when you break/go downhill and recoup after. It'd be like a bagpipe where you peddle constantly independent of current speed. Other than being really complex and heavy to carry.

I've cycled home with people a couple of times. It's a skill in itself knowing when to pull in and when double abreast is ok.

[1] All bridges in cambridge seem to have many names. Does any beat this one?

You know, that's given me a mental picture I'm going to find very hard to get rid of... :-)
