Review - Men in Tights
Oct. 16th, 2005 07:48 pmDo I like men in tights? That is, do I like "Men in Tights"? I though this was supposed to be a classic comedy but most of it seemed a bit dull and predicatable.
But I'm glad I left it on, because there were some lovely moments in the last two minutes:
Patrick Stewart as Sean Connery as King Richard. Will these men never have appropriate accents? :)
Aforementioned PS/SC snogging Maid Marion at the wedding.
"We can't have a black Sherrif of Rottingham!" "The black sherrif worked in Blazing Saddles!"

Yep. I always enjoy the "not obvious humour" humour, if you see what I mean. Though according to Simon R. Green (of the Deathstalker books, who I met at worldcon) he was responsible for the initial draft of the screenplay, and all *his* humour got edited out by an extremely humour impaired person, and all of the jokes just appeared during filming.
