On Monday I was productive, and did much veizla-organising (date confirmed sat 24th june, announcement tonight), and cts termcard making up, and the like, though STILL didn't have time to sit down and curl up for a bit.

I missed pizza and probably penultima :( but went to Edith's Beltaine at Oblivion, yay!
  • Pip was there with Edith, it's really lovely to see her. I'm glad she did make it out.
  • Unfortunately, Pip and I tend to turn into an exponential runaway inneundo-pumping machine, the acceleration if not the content of which might have shocked people trying to have a *semi*-serious conversation :)
  • *Hug* Edith and Nick. I haven't visited Oblivion for aaaaaaaages, despite going to parties there quite often. It was nice to see both these fine gentlemen[1] on their home ground again.
  • Ian and Kirsty (Edit: fixed various conceptual levels of typo) were there, and apologised for confusion and frustration on the linear in a very sweet mannar, and I said there was absolutely nothing to worry about, and if that was a badly organised linear then it was in fact very good, it was just bad for a new player, and things became almost inconceivably jolly[2].
  • And then much useful advice about ishmundi was proffered, and much general discussion about what makes a good roleplaying system happened.
  • I would have liked to see Wicker Man, but it was getting late, so I came home, curled up with a book for 3/4 of an hour and went to bed at a good time.
  • I have become a mead-fairy.
I feel good.

Who is this strange Rob person?

Doh! Edited. I'm sorry, I really don't know why I do that. I think because I didn't know Ian well, and met him first in company with a very large number of other people I didn't know whose names I would have to remember, and my brain gets all the way to "Three letter straightforward name attached to tall nice roleplayer" and then barfs on *which* :)

I swear I don't do that just to see if people are watching :)

*grin* I tend to get names horrifically confused, so much so that I tend to default to not using them. This gets especially confusing when all my friends have a subset of birthname, nickname, IRC/wiki-name, LJ username and up to three or four character names (some of which may be different aliases for the same character). A good number of them also dress up. Hence I tend to remember *people* not names or faces - which is all very well until I have to dredge one or other out of my memory.

I eventually decided not to be embarassed by getting it wrong, which occasionally means I make the same mistake several times (sorry) but mainly means I make an effort and aren't afraid to ask every time I forget, which has been generally more successful as a whole :)

The whole four different pseudonyms at least is definitely taxing though.

In retrospect, as I'm not trying to be particularly anonymous, I should have chosen an online handle assonansic with Jack to help people remember. At the time CDaemon was a one-off name I didn't expect anyone to get to know me by before they knew me IRL, and then when I started blogging regularly never wanted to change it as that'd just make it more complicated for everyone :)

I'm generally quite good at recognising *people* too, except perhaps when I meet a lot of people who are the same in the ways I normally tag them by. For instance, short female asnac student with dark hair who knows John, would normally enough for my brain to use as a primary ID and start to identify other information like name, personality, etc, but if I meet lots of them at once, by the time my brain has adjusted, they've all run together in my mind :)

I seem to recall that you once wondered why all mead-fairies were so cuddly. Could it be that there is a strong tendency for cuddly people to become mead-fairies? :-)

Oh, I don't know. Maybe cuddlyness and mead both correlate with:

* imbibing sweet things
* being helpful

exponential runaway inneundo-pumping machine

*rofl* I'm not sure people were thinking what I knew we were both thinking at first, but I'm sure it ended up that way, IYSWIM. But then, if you giggle at anything, people will think there's an innuendo in it ;)

ROFL.

if you giggle at anything, people will think there's an innuendo in it ;)

One can genuinely be found, especially when people's minds go the right way. One phrase in particular had a noticeable "What are they talking about? ... OH" :)

Or rather the wrong way ;) I think most people have a secretly (or not) dirty mind though...

Sorry, that is, have momentum. When you're thinking in those terms, a sentence can have obvious innuendo which under normal circumsatances would be too much of a stretch.

The ideal is something that is obvious when pointed out, but not at all before -- I remember the opening scene of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory[1] with the view of the factory and chimney, and I say "oo-er" about the chimney.

I think most people have a secretly (or not) dirty mind though...

Everyone we know, true :) Though some probably relish it and others are embarassed by it -- me depending on context, in fact.

[1] I nearly typed "Johnny Depp" there :)

Yes, I know some people who do get embarrassed by it. I like having innuendos in supervisions and things, but you have to remember which supervisors are up for it and which will think you're a dirty-minded not-Cam-worthy slut ;)

Ooh. You're going to play an Ishmundi? I *like* Ishmundi...

(ok, I may be slightly biased because previous character *REALLY* liked a particular one, but mm, arrogant justice-boys ;) )

I really haven't decided, it was just suggested as a idea which seemed reasonably cool.

Congratulations (and good luck)! That doesn't mean you were planning to come, does it?
