First I dropped in to the Trinity BA society to see who else I knew. It was very much knocking down dominos: "Hi! How are you? Good, me too! Any plans for next year? He's fine, how about [name]? Great, ooh, I see [name], I must circulate" bam, bam, bam, catching up with several people quickly and then going on.

Then I headed off to Mr_Ricarno's brithday party. This was really fun, thank you, Richard! It was all well organised, with a private dining room, U-table, nice food and nice wine. I only knew a few people (mostly CTS), but recognised a couple more[1], and chatted to many. Richard apparently has lots of nice friends. I think he was a bit surprised so many people could come, but everyone has some birthdays no-one can make and some where everyone comes and brings a friend.

I spent most of the dinner gossipping with Naath and Becky, which was lovely. Then we went into speaches, and maths jokes, and circulating round the table hugging people you know. I got to say "No, I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't know the Bishop of Norwich."

Afterward we went down to the bar for arguments about religion, ticklefights, stroking each other's hair and comparing it to armpits (yeah, and you have cooties :)), and so forth.
