Do you think I can get a projector so I can watch DVDs in the bath? That would just suit me because "lying still relaxing in a bath" and "watching an English language DVD" are often both activities which take up *half* my concentration.

I might have to get one that can squish an image into hexagonal shape so when projected onto a corner it looks right. And maybe a house with a different shape bathroom. (I don't want to have the projector *in* the room, even sealed up, that's just asking for trouble. But I don't mind if the quality isn't perfect.)

I wouldn't expect the lifespan of a project in such an environment to be very high. Unless you can get some kind of specially sealed version (which would probably be highly expensive!)

Have you thought of wall mounting a flat panel instead? You could water proof that much more easily.

But the projector would be outside the bathroom... How fast does humid travel? Or are all the water droplets sucked back into the projector by the light beam? :)

Oh. It isn't obvious (to me) from your post that the projector would be outside the bathroom.

Why do you want to do this with a projector? Why not use a flat panel?

Ah, sorry. I tried to say it with this "I don't want to have the projector *in* the room, even sealed up, that's just asking for trouble."

Why do you want to do this with a projector? Why not use a flat panel?

Well, I'm not very up to date with the details. It seemed to me that projectors were more than four times as big, more than four times as cheap, and could be set up in the living room on a positioned stand except occasionally when you want to point them into the bathroom :)

I don't think my parser works with brackets.

Yes. I think you could do it with one of those laptops that doubles as an OHP projector, and, erm, an OHP. I don't think I know where you work but you could probably get that past some expense departments. Unless you've blogged about it first 8-)

LOL. I *have* a laptop from work. I don't think I'd feel honest getting a replacement for something that wouldn't be useful for work *at all* :)

Some houses have a glass window above the door to the bathroom. Perhaps some sort of arrangement of mirrors and lenses could put the projector safely away in another room?

Quite possibly. I considered "a complicated arrangement of mirrors", but I wasn't sure how much it might degrade the picture. Not if I have *good* mirrors, I guess :)
