I met Sonic at lunchtime for one of our patented "No more than an hour, we have to get back to work. Doh!" lunches.

I got out of work at six and went swimming in the evening.

I watched Life on Mars, and did some maths, and read some Larry Niven, and by then it was too late to do anything else, so I had an early night :)

I'm undecided. It was the start of the something'th season, I think, so possibly not the *best* place to start. I liked the idea, and John Simm is undoubtably good. I didn't really get into this one; but I'd like to see some more and see how it goes. *cuddles*

There were only two series, and I assume you'd know if you were watching the first one, so that'll be the second then :)

That's where I started too, actually :) In fact, the first episode of series 2 isn't the best of them - it was good, and Marc Warren was in it, and I liked the bit where they had a set-to on a random roof-top (they don't usually fight!), but I wasn't hooked. The second episode, however, is the one that will get you - it's so funny that you won't be able to stay away IMO, so I recommend giving it a try.

Of course, you won't start caring about Sam until considerably later, because sometimes he can be a bit annoying because all you care about are Gene's one-liners :) But if you persevere, I can guarantee you'll love him in the final episode, which is a cracker. I cried, and you might be manly and not do so, but it's very emotional.

P.S. How come you're watching it? Do you have access to the DVDs, or is it being shown, or what?

Oh, ok. The second then. At least, it started with him being in the police 70's police and attacking this guy Craine, rather than being run over and send back in time in a coma.

Oh, I see. I thought you were a big fan, have I confused you with someone? Or you just haven't got to #1 yet? That's very promising to hear, I felt those bits would be the best if they were played up more, so I very much want to watch the next few. However, it depends on me being in next week, I'm not sure I have any chance of scheduling myself round them :)

It just was on TV (BBC3/4 I think, though I'm not sure) so I watched it.

PS. I'm sorry I'm not James, I hope you weren't offended by the books -- but you'll have to let me know if that sounds ok before I send them off! :)

PS. *hugs* I hope not doing work continues to go ok :(
