Thoughts - The rush

God damn it! How could it take me a day to track down that bug? It was the SAME BUG AS LAST TIME ie. the debugger zeros memory, so if you accidently don't null-terminate a string, you don't notice the bug until you don't debug. NEXT TIME, I will code more carefully. REALLY.

In other news. It *does* feel better to get up at eight and go to bed at midnight than get up at 11 and go to bed at 3. Why did I used to find it so difficult? Apparently getting in to work early (or at least, in the morning) is approved of more than I realised. I wonder if anyone will believe me that my decision to do so is coincidental with that revelation.

So actually, it would be in everyone's best interests if parents just kept their mouths shut: they wouldn't have to waste their time nagging and we wouldn't have to feel obliged to stay up till five everynight or spend hours ironing because we didn't lay our clothes out flat, just for the sake of it.

Of course, then they wouldn't get to say "Told you so" :)

Maybe. But you have to *try*. A *little* seeps in. And presumably parents feel that being ironed *some* of the time is better than *none* of the time, though there is the backlash that some people probably iron *less* out of srtubbornness than if they decided entirely for themselves.

The question is, not I've realised this, will I start listening to advice? Well, I'll *try*...
