Thoughts - logic

1. I'm happier when I'm ahead of my notional schedule.
2. I'm also more productive.
3. Which means if I'm ahead, I tend to STAY ahead, and if I'm behind, I tend to procrastinate, which makes it much worse.
4. So if I can just meet some small targets by working first and playing later, my life will snowball into one massive success, and I'd be happy.
5. I want to be happy.
6. Therefore, I should post of livejournal now.
7. Profit.

If you did go up to a Classicist (me, at least), and quote a syllogism (or somesuch) using the word 'ergo', you'd probably be more likely to get your face corrected anyway... IMHO :)

Besides, wouldn't it be relevent if you wished to emphasise that you were making a logical deduction, not just a general sort of inference? :)

Doesn't 'therefore' sort of imply that what you're about to say is the next logical step? If not, I think *all* logic should be written in Latin :)

Well, mostly. But it doesn't quite have the same gravitas -- I'd say therefore would be more likely to encompass hidden assumptions than ergo.

And most formal logic *is*. Or at least, uses "ergo" :)

Using 'ergo' is SO not the same as being all in Latin :)
