:) I usually google for checkmark and then copy and paste from the wikipedia summary (the first one is "unicode check mark", and then "heavy check mark", etc, etc). I think I could also set up a keyboard shortcut, or install a firefox plugin, or maybe there's an existing keyboard short-cut in windows, I'm not sure, but most of those involve remembering the unicode code point number, and I haven't bothered.
