It was way cool. But otoh I always think that just after a starwars film, and only later decide what niggled me about it. Anyway, now a series of impressions, most things I objected to, though there were much fewer of these than in the other films.

Many light-sabre duels were very very cool. I did like general greivous with his four, indeed I liked him generally. On the other hand some of it seemed a bit tacked on, mostly because almost every time you know how it's going to end. I liked Dooku, it's a shame he was toast so quickly, and it seems a bit of a waste (couldn't Palpitane have found some other underling to be killed by Anikin?), but you know he was going to die. You know Obi Wan was going beat Grevious. You know Kingsley Shacklebolt was going to be toast one way or another. And at the end you know niether duel is going to won decisively, however impressive lava is. Knowing how things end *can* be great tragedy, but it didn't quite work here.

"I *am* the senate" -- nice reference to the sun king.

For god's sake, "Ani" is such a freacking sickening nickname.

When yoda and obi wan investigated the temple I was pleased that they looked at the security vids, I was terrified they were going to run to Anikin and say "OMG they is teh dead SOS," though I'm not sure why it showed them Vader kneeling to the emporer -- didn't that happen in his office?

The dialogue wasn't great, but there wasn't as much of it as the last film, and didn't really bother me.

When they lowered the mask on to Vader's face I nearly cried.

A few questions. Why didn't Obi and Yoda tackle Siddious together? Surely that'd give them a better chance? The clones did a decent job of eliminating the jedi, except for yoda, where two of them wandered up to teh greatest jedi ever and stood very close to him before raising their guns slowly surrounded by his wookie friends. Everyone makes a big deal of how important Vader is, but in New Hope wasn't governor someone holding him on a leash?

Update: And the science didn't make any sense. The science *never* makes any sense. It didn't cause any major plot holes[1] that I noticed, so I let it slide.

Except them not knowing about caesarean sections. But that's not a problem with the tech they have, but with what they don't have. Area-affect weapons would also be good things to use against jedi, but no doubt they have magic immunity to that.
