On Saturday, I finally fixed my bike again. Let's see if it can go more than a week without getting another puncture.

It's really nice to be able to go to the pub and have a drink, though, and also to get some fresh air before cloistering myself in an office all day.

Frequent punctures suggest a defect inside the rim. If you don't have cloth rim tape, I recommend replacing the rim tape you have got with cloth.

Or worn out tires and not enough air in them?

I agree with David: frequent punctures usually indicate some kind of unfixed problem. A defect inside the rim is one possible cause, but there are others. Back in December I punctured three times in succession one morning. After the third puncture I searched really really carefully for the cause and found that there was a tiny sliver of glass completely embedded in the tyre, so that it was invisible both from the outside and from the inside.

Not to be Captain Obvious to poor old jack, but... when I remove a tube, I am careful not to rotate the tyre on the rim; then when I find the hole I know both whether it is outwards towards the tyre or inwards towards the rim, and which bit of the tyre to be fondling if need be.
