Lesbian Emporium
Jul. 2nd, 2006 02:59 amI finally wandered over to the closing of the Elizabeth Way Lesbian Emporium Closing Down Sale. After luxuriating in Enough Sleep (TM), playing retro computer games, and thinking about Winnie-the-Pooh flash all afternoon, and then sonic coming over for coffee to rescue the book boxes camping in my spare room, and cooking dinner, it was about 11 O'Clock, but I correctly deduced 27 hours after the start time wasn't late by PARTAY standards :)
For the first time in my life I sartorially admitted I wasn't completely 100% vanilla; feeling guilty for the requested amount of seduction and shock not packed into my typical wardrobe I tacked on to my black tie a pair of handcuffs on my wrist.
Everyone else was looking extremely shiny (Yay, alchemist, simont, sam, man with hundreds of chians, louise, etc) but apparently cuffs were unusual enough on me they did provoke two conflicting questions: "Do you remember where the key is?" and "Who has the key?" :)
Me being an extremely partied out Daemon, wandering around all week reeling from the aftereffects of mayweek :) I was mainly looking for some friends and not really a party to end all parties, so was a pleasant relaxing evening. There were nice new people, and surprising cuddly SGO people (how do you know everyone? I don't know, how do you?)
I floated around meeting people, dispensed mead in return for quoting shakespeare and wearing corsets, and analysed Terry Pratchett, and perpetrated an appropriate quota of canonically bad obscure puns and overextended metaphors with Simon et al.
I was restrained and kissed only one Lesbian[1] who was extremely beautiful, and one gay man[2] someone had sourced from the Fleur de Lis. All in all it was a very pleasant evening. I shouldn't even be very drunk, except that I *think* I drank most of the bottle of mead.
Tomorrow I hope to sleep, plan roleplaying campaigns, phone family and friends, maybe support Becky, maybe go for a stroll, and maybe stop at Kate's BBQ in the evening.
[1] Not literally a lesbian. You know what I mean.
[2] It's funny. Kissing a man I know only a little seems quite weird. But a man I don't know at all occasionally feels right. Whereas I'm often more of a sucker for women. Because I'm straight, don'tchaknow :)
